Albums....

As a photographer we offer a number of different albums. Some cost as little at $150 while others can cost as much as $2500. What's the difference? The work that goes into an album. Our $150 album (8x8) includes an actual single image on each side that is hand mounted. Usually this album includes 10 leaves with 20 sides for a total of 20 images.

The $2500 album has different types of paper, classic or Metallic, and offers 3-4 images on each side in a college layout with 20-25 leaves and 40-50 sides totaling 80-100 images. This album type can also include Pano's or a single image that spans two sides (8x20). These layouts are custom designed and start at 8x10 and go up.

What can bring the cost down on a $2500 album, the cover material (leather, suede, linen) and reducing the number of leaves. Our average album has 10 leaves with 20 sides and a very nice leather cover. The average album costs between $800 - $1000.

Recently I designed a Senior album for one of my clients. To give you an idea of the Collage layout, I've posted some of the layouts. These are for a 10x10 album and the images represent 10x20 images (two sides per image).

Elegance....

This weekend was a busy one. On Saturday I worked all day. The morning was filled with a Hindu wedding where I assisted another photographer. It was a true party of the best sense where the ceremony is started with the Grooms family dancing him to the alter.

The afternoon and evening was filled with a truly elegant wedding of a friend. Cheryl and Mike were married Saturday evening at Tulsa Country Club. I meet Cheryl 4 years ago when I became a member of TCC. I later formally meet Mike and realized we had many common acquaintances through our work.

I was honored a few weeks back to be called by Cheryl who asked if I would shoot their wedding. I jumped at the change and it proved to be a very wonderful evening.

While I was reviewing the pictures I tried to pick a few "favorites", but it just wasn't possible. Instead I've pulled a few from the different parts of the day to give you a look at the wedding. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday!!!

A few months back my son, William, turned one year old. It was a great time for Natalie and I and without a doubt a time we would want to remember as he grew older. Well like many parents we got William his own birthday cake. We captured some great images that I used to college for his grand parents. I liked the card so much I've decided I'm going to use it to make postcards I can send out to my clients.

I really like this little card. I hope you do too. If you have a baby about to turn 1, be sure to give us a call and we'll create some special cards for you to send to your family to remember the event. We can be reached for appointments at 918.809.5150.

More of Karen...

I just completed the editing of Karen's pictures. I really like these images. I've known her for over 3 years and it was a lot of fun to photograph her. While we were downtown, it's safe to say we had plenty of attention. We were just beside a bank with all glass and everyone was watching us. I know they wished they could be in Karen's place...

Anyway, here are a few more of my picks from the session.

Karen

This is Karen. I meet her several years ago while we were both working at Williams Communications ( A.K.A WilTel). Anyway, she was in my group. Anyway, she is wanting to give her Mother a special gift for Christmas and decided some nice photographs would be just the perfect gift.

This is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it too.

Thanksgiving!

Well this the week of Thanksgiving. For me not only am I thankful, but very busy. Sunday I completed a senior session for Jaeton of Broken Arrow. His mom grew up here and they wanted to do the entire shoot on Main St. BA. I had never done a photo shoot in BA before so I didn't know what to expect. Well I did the usual and walked the streets looking for cool locations to really give the Home Town feeling while still providing some great shots for Jaeton and his mom.

The clouds were rolling in and it was getting cooler, and I was a little concerned with the exposure, but when I was able to get the images back to the studio and go through them, I was very pleased. Broken Arrow is one of my new favorite locations with it's small town feel.

Here's an image from the shoot...

This time of the year, we have lots who have us create customized Christmas cards. These are great ways to share you family with friends. We get lots of cards and put them all over our house to remember our friends.

Anywho.... This is the Hopkins Family. I created their custom card and thought I would share it here.

Beautiful OKC Wedding

We had a beautiful wedding this past weekend. We weren't the Photographer at this wedding, we were the Videographer. We had never worked at the Hall of Mirrors before at the OKC Convention Center, but it was a memorable experience. The hall itself is very beautiful with amazing architecture from 1936. The Art Decco style isn't hard to miss and just simply accented the decor of the wedding.

Anyway, even though we weren't the Photographer, I still take a few stills for use on the DVD Cover. There was plenty for me to get, as this wedding was full of great shots.

Here are a few of my favorites that I'll use to make the DVD cover for the Bride and Groom.

Congratulations to Marissa and Jason!

New Children Photography Ad...

I've been working with more and more children and thought I might create an AD to help get the word out. This AD features Jessica, an 18 month old I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of weeks ago.

Jessica is crying because she wants her pink baseball hat...

More Seniors... different look...

I had the joy of some more Senior shots this past weekend. Amanda is only a Junior but I talked her into doing a fun little session. She will be a Senior Rep for me handing out cards and telling others about my photography.

Anyway, I really liked the way these images worked for the look I was going after. Everyone asks about the look of my darker images where the subject just shines out... I call this my Abercrombie look. I find inspiration from looking at fashion magazines. Any given day you will find me at one of the local book stores with a stack of magazines and a note pad taking notes about how the images are shot and processed.

I look for ways to improve but still stay on top of main stream photography from a fashion point of view.

Anyway, I prepared a little college of my favorite images. There are many more but these are the top few for me right now. Ask me tomorrow and my opinion will change. :-)

Christmas Cards

This past weekend we had an all day shoot at Today's Kid in Owasso, Oklahoma (Website). This children store offers some really nice children cloths... Anyway, as a way to say thank you to her customers, the store owner provided them with our photography services for free.

Each customer received a Free 5x7 of their child. We had a great time and photographed lots of kids. I'll post a few of my favorites later, but you can see all the proofs online at our proof site (Proofs.Jphotographic.com). Thursday evening, November 17th, I'll be photographing at Jazzy Kids (82nd and Memorial) in South Tulsa. Again customers will receive free prints with a purchase at the store.

See ya there..
